Note:
All Rangers up to 89 had the 28, but in 90 they replaced the 28 with the 35 and kept the 7.5 in rear. Now, 4 litre Rangers and Explorers are the only ones with the 8.8 rear, but all of them share the same front end (90 and up that is). If you check the I.D tag on front of pre 90 Rangers they will read E87A, the code for model 28. 1990 & up have code F07A, the for the Dana 35.
